The Saami Brothers bring Pakistani qawwali to the Bandshell, with voices, repetition and improvisation at the center of the experience.
The plan
The Saami Brothers bring Pakistani qawwali to the Bandshell, with voices, repetition and improvisation at the center of the experience. This is an invitation to listen closely to a living devotional music tradition rather than a playlist of familiar pop songs. Choose it for an evening when you want to encounter a different musical language and let the performance develop on its own terms.
Before you go
The venue announces 7pm with doors at 6pm. A $15 offer is listed for Miami Beach residents with identification; other admission options vary. Follow the venue’s show time if an outside ticket index displays a different hour.
Getting there & the venue
The Bandshell is an open-air venue under a canopy, so dress for the evening rather than for an air-conditioned theater. Its municipal lot is across Collins Avenue at 73rd Street and costs $2 an hour. Outside food and drinks are not allowed; there is a water refill station inside. Allow extra time for parking and ticket scanning, especially if you want to be settled before the opening performance.
Before you go
Take the residency ID needed for the local price and leave room in your evening for attentive listening.
