A music-themed playground and water views on Miami Beach’s quieter western side.
The plan
Maurice Gibb Memorial Park makes a good switch from the ocean side of the island. Its Sunset Harbour setting is about bay views, a neighborhood pause and room for children to play. The city reopened the redesigned park in 2025 with a music-themed playground, two bay overlooks, green space and a living shoreline. Come for the public land-based park experience rather than assuming the boat ramp is a general visitor facility.
Play and practical details
The city lists accessible park areas, water fountains and seating, with daily opening from sunrise to sunset. The redesigned playground gives families a specific reason to visit, while the overlooks suit a quieter stop. Bring water and use the waterfront responsibly, keeping children close by the water.
Parking is not one rule
Boat-ramp parking has resident registration restrictions and should not be treated as ordinary visitor parking. Check signs and use permitted neighborhood parking instead. A park visit does not include a boat trip, watersports rental or permission to use restricted facilities.
Before you go
Pair a late-afternoon park visit with a short Sunset Harbour walk, without turning the free outing into a mandatory restaurant stop.
