Children encounter living swamp plants, including aquatic carnivorous species, then collaborate on a miniature wetland in a shallow vessel.
The plan
Children encounter living swamp plants, including aquatic carnivorous species, then collaborate on a miniature wetland in a shallow vessel. Environmental scientist and educator Sasha Sikaffy leads this hands-on look at South Florida ecology. The session is designed for ages four to eight, with one accompanying adult per child, and includes materials and scientific tools. It is a specific ninety-minute learning activity rather than an ordinary garden stroll. Wear clothes suitable for working with water and bring a flask, so young participants can focus on observing, touching and building with the living systems in front of them.

November 7, 10–11:30am. General admission $65; members $58.50. Ages 4–8 with one accompanying adult. Contact the educator through the event page about the sibling offer.
