Young Musicians Unite celebrates the legacy of music educator Doug Burris with an evening spanning alumni groups and the Miami Beach Rock Ensemble.
The plan
Young Musicians Unite celebrates the legacy of music educator Doug Burris with an evening spanning alumni groups and the Miami Beach Rock Ensemble. Announced sets run from (RE)VIVAL and Monkey Business through Sevenstone and The Floridians to the Rock Ensemble. The bill makes this more than a single-band performance: it is a chance to hear different generations of the local music community sharing one stage.
Before you go
Doors open at 6pm. Listed sets begin at 7pm, 7:35pm, 8:10pm, 8:45pm and 9:20pm respectively. Treat these as the announced running order and recheck on the day; ticket prices vary through the linked seller.
Getting there & the venue
The Bandshell is an open-air venue under a canopy, so dress for the evening rather than for an air-conditioned theater. Its municipal lot is across Collins Avenue at 73rd Street and costs $2 an hour. Outside food and drinks are not allowed; there is a water refill station inside. Allow extra time for parking and ticket scanning, especially if you want to be settled before the opening performance.
Before you go
Arrive for the first group if you want the full tribute rather than only its closing ensemble.
